President-Elect Barack Obama

For those who have been living under a rock for the past week, the people of the United States of American voted, and the winner for the President of the country is Democrat Barack Obama. I personally wished the election would of went a bit more to the right, but it is really not up to me to decide, but all Americans to do so.

But for all you guys freaking out over the Obama win, I must ask you one question. Really? Did we not all see this coming? I mean come on, like John McCain really had a chance to win? No, he didn’t and all Republicans knew that, but I guess they thought he was the right choice. But, now with the Republican party demolishing itself, well, not much to say about them.

Anyways, I ask that all of you guys calling him “President Obama” to please stop. He won the presidency, but he is not President yet. He shall not be President until inaguration day, and after he is sword in for the job. Until then, who knows what may happen. There have been threats pre-election of assassination, but I am not saying anything.

Personally, I will always be behind my President, and I will support him, unless he does something in which is un-American, and then it will be my job to report it, and to be involed in fixing it. For all you guys who say you will not support Barack Obama, well, as Glenn Beck stated, you are un-American, and just get over the fact that you lost. If/when he fails to deliver like he promises, his own supporters will start to dislike him, just as Bush’s has, and then we can all sit back and laugh. But really, we must stick together, as a country divided, we will destroy ourselves.

Well, it’s over

Well, it is over. The next President of the United States of America has been chosen. His name is Barak Obama. Whether we liked him not, whether we were for him or against him, it is now time for us all to unify behind our one and only President. For all of you who supported him, well you got your wish. Be happy. For all of us, who followed different paths(Barr, McCain, Nader…) it is time we give him a fresh start. We may have found fault with what he has done or said in the past, but all of that must be forgiven. Obama has been given the oppurtunity to prove all of us wrong. I hope, that I was wrong. I hope that the President will greatly excede my expectations. I would never wish ill upon anyone. So I say, congratulations President Obama, my god be with you(and us too, by extension) for the next four years.

This is highly disrespectful

Today while I was on youtube I found what is unquestionably the most disrespectful thing that I have ever seen on that site. I don’t go into youtube with particularly high standards for viewing, but this site I felt had to be stopped. It is called Muslims For Obama. It was clearly made by some ignorant asswhole trying to pull some political stunt. It makes the step of directly associating Senator Obama as a muslim and as a terrorist. Now, all of you who read me know that I am no fan of Obama, but this site is just horrible. Not only is it disrespectful to Obama, but also it is disrespectful to muslims and arabs alike. Not all muslims are terrorists, in fact, the vast majority are peace loving citizens just like the rest of us. And not all arabs are muslim. Arab is a race, not a religion. You can be arab christian, arab jew, whatever. Furthermore there are many muslims who are not arab at all. Finally I say that this disrespects supporters of John McCain, the Republican Party, and independents that don’t support Obama. The implied message of this site is: Obama is muslim-muslim is bad–vote McCain so he can’t be president. For all of these reasons I have filed an official report with youtube to take down all of this sites videos(there are two). I know, some of you will talk about freedom of speech even though you don’t agree with him. Just we need to protect rights, correct? Freedom of speech does not apply to slander. You do not have the right to spread lies about people, look it up. I don’t know whether it was posted by an ignant(ghetto variation of the word ignorant, implies a level of ignorance beyond that of simply being ignorant) McCainiac or a Obama kid who was trying to make McCain people look bad, (or someone who is just an asswhole) I don’t know. What I do know, is that it shouldn’t be there.

Uriel for President 2008

I feel that I am very qualified to be president. No, I haven’t finished college yet. No, I have no experience in politics. How am I qualified then, for all the reasons John McCain and Barack Obama are.

This is for those on the left:
I am not George Bush. That’s the main reason you vote Obama, right, because Republicans are bad. No one cares whether Democrats are good or not. I am young. Very young. I’m still in college. Unlike that old McCain. He can’t even use a computer. Let’s disregard the fact that it’s because his arms beyond a certain point due to the fact that his bones were broken in the Vietnam War. I have the physical ability to use a computer as evidenced by this blog. That makes me qualified. I’ve never been in Congress before. That makes me not be a Washington insider. It also means that I don’t have any experience, but again let’s ignore that. Of course it is kinda weird that I, as a “Washington outsider” was able to gain enough political support to run for president. This, of course, indicates that I know how to play the game better than any of the “washington insiders”, but that doesn’t matter because physically I wasn’t in D.C. Plus, I’m black. Clearly because my skin is different then all the other politicians I am different. It’s not like there are laws against singling people out by their skin col…..oops.

People on the right:
I am not a Democrat. My religion is christian not muslim. I might not be a particularly good candidate, but I’m better than that other guy. I mean he just sucks. And I have a long family history of being in the military(I’m not joking here, I really do). This make me more qualified to be president. Or course, being President is different than being Joint Chief of Staffs for the Department of Defense, but whatever. Also, look at my running mate. He is a real washington outsider. He can’t even spell washington. He was his schools class Secretary. So he is qualified to lead in my absence. And he can hunt! Yeah hunting!!! Also he has a sister(who is a woman) so all of you former Hillary supporters, come to me. We’d be glad to have you.

Vote for me Uriel 2008. I have all the qualifying characteristics of both Obama and McCain, therefore I am better than both of them. Uriel 2008, the omni-candidate.

The Ultimate Criminals II

So in the first post I talked about how ridiculous the ballot access laws are, and how the Republicans and Democrats don’t even have to follow them. The I touched on the injustice of a system where the Dems and Repubs are allowed to file their paperwork late while other groups have to file on time and with 74 thousand signatures. Well it happened again. Bob Barr has been removed from the ballot in Louisiana. They just decided to take him off. In my last post when i said this:

Hoo-fuckin-ray! The reign of the fascist dictatorship has begun.

I was kinda just kidding. It seems to me, however, that as each days passes the statement becomes more and more true.

Debate One: 26 September 2008

So, the Commission on Presidential Debates refused to include any of the alternative parties, so there isn’t really much to talk about here in the form of “debate.” I just decided that I would highlight some of the better points made by Senators McCain and Obama. Here were the rules. I chose stances from the candidates that made sense. I purposely excluded all statements made about the person of the opponent. No negative statements. I also did not point out where each candidate messed up. I only attempt to enhance the candidates here, not to bash them. I have plenty of other blogs where I do that. So…..here we go!

McCain:
McCain had a few pretty good points when it came to the economy. McCain plans to keep taxes on businesses low. This might not sound good at first, but you have to look beyond the initial emotional reaction. The US has some of the highest corporate taxes in the world(2nd highest according to McCain) with percentages of around 35%. Corporate taxes in Ireland are only 15%. That is the reason all of our industries are outsourcing. Why raise taxes? That would just cause more outsourcing.

McCain also plans to end ethanol subsidies. This is good on two fronts. First of all, it stops us from giving away money. Secondly, it will kill the wasteful US ethanol industry. This is what I mean. The ethanol that we produce in the US, corn ethanol is the most inefficient ethanol mix that there is. We could do a lot better if we started making ethanol from leftover grasses or sugarcane. It actually takes more energy to produce and transport corn ethanol then the ethanol itself releases when burned. Why would we invest in this? I say take it one step further Senator McCain: get rid of ethanol tariffs. If we required our ethanol companies to compete, they would be forced to make higher quality products or go out of business.

McCain proposes using fixed priced military contracts. This is something I definitely support. If you have ever read anything about military contracts, then you know that there is great excess. The cost always goes above the given bid, and the government always pays it. If you say this ship should cost $500, it better damn well cost $500. No more, no less(well, it can cost less!) Also I propose that the structure of who approves these contracts be changed. Under the current system contracts are basically chosen by politicians. Why do we have lawyers(most politicians are lawyers) approving multiple Billion dollar contracts. That’s why stuff like this happens. Navy approved the building of a new class of destroyer, each of which would cost around 3 billion dollars. After the construction of two, however, the navy realized that the ship was defenseless against aerial attacks. What? We already spent $5 billion dollars( with about $3 billion more to go), and you just say oops. Anyway. I think all military contracts should be chosen by councils of military generals and engineers, not politicians. That just seems like the most logical thing.

McCain also proposes a freeze on spending. That is he wants to keep the budget the way it is, and not grow it anymore. I, personally, would like to see the budget cut back. We should dramatically reduce spending, but I think this proposal is a step in the right direction.

McCain proposes a truly comprehensive energy plan. Democrats have their own “comprehensive” energy plan that involves developing new clean technologies. There is nothing wrong with that. McCain’s plan essentially add other sources of energy such as nuclear, hydroelectric, and more drilling for more oil. Seems logical. Do everything not some things. He also points out that developing all of these things will create more jobs.

McCain proposes a $5000 dollar tax refund on for families to purchase healthcare. This is good because it provides relief to the average American, and allows them to purchase healthcare. It does not however, create a government healthcare program. As we are no seeing from the Fannie/ Freddie dilema, that when the government gets involved, things just get worse. Also I just like the idea of a government controlled healthcare program. Remember, the government that can give you everything can take everything away. “Oh! you don’t agree with our regime? We’ll just take away your healthcare.” You think that’s unrealistic? Why do you think people supported Hitler? They didn’t want to lose their government checks that’s why.

Well that’s it on McCain.

Obama:

Yeah, that’s right. Obama said some good stuff too. The “Google for Government” program he talked about allowed for any citizen to look up every dollar of any bill passed in Congress. That is a good idea. I only wonder how it is regulated. Is there some sort of password? If not, then the terrorists could just go to the website and look it up.

Obama proposes ending the war in Iraq. I personally am split over this issue. While I want to finish what was started, I also see the Iraq War as a major drain on economical resources that could be spent at home. I support an end to the war purely for those economical reasons.

Obama also proposes taking stricter action against Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is pretty obvious that Osama(assuming he isn’t dead) is not in Iraq. We need to look somewhere else. I think Afghanistan and Pakistan are good places to look. Also by pulling out or Iraq, we would have more resources to invest into these areas.

That’s it for this debate. If you found anything else that was good(remember the rules) then feel free to post it as a comment.

The Ultimate Criminals

I’m sure by now all of you have heard about the great travesty that has just occurred in the Texas Supreme court on Tuesday this week. The court decided that it had the authority to overrule the enforcements of state laws, due to popular opinion. They have allowed these criminals to escape punishment without even thinking twice about it. Had I as a citizen had broken any law, irregardless of what the law was, I would be sent to prison. Not only that, but I would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Never would the courts decide to break the law for me; the amount of popular support doesn’t matter. Why then, did these crooks get away? Well, that is what I’m wondering.

On August 26, 2008 both Barack Obama and John McCain neglected to file the paperwork to get on the ballot in Texas. In fact, neither of the two Presidential candidates had even been nominated at that time. Palin had not even been chosen as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate. There was one man who did file though; his name is Bob Barr. Not only did he file his papers by the deadline, but he did it in spite of the state’s conscious effort to keep him off of the ballot. Bob Barr, and all other third party candidates, have to collect over 74,000 signatures just to apply to be on the ballot. The Republicans and Democrats don’t have to turn in any signatures at all. Not even one. That doesn’t sound like democracy to me. That doesn’t sound like equality to me. The Texas state government cheated twice for the Republicans and Democrats. First they tried to keep us from having a choice on the ballot by means of having ridiculous ballot access requirements. Laws that the two largest parties- which should have the easier time finding signatures then any other party- don’t have to follow. They wanted us to only be able to “choose” between those two parties. And now they have cheated again. As I said before, they wouldn’t let me break the law. They wouldn’t come and bail me out after I wronged, no matter how much support there was. Are Obama and McCain above the law?

Let me make this clear; I am not against McCain and Obama being on the ballot. They are both on the ballot in my home state Alabama. I am against them being able to break the law whenever they damn well please. The laws were already slanted in their favor. They were already given an advantage. What more can they want? Well power, duh! Let’s all be honest here. They probably did this on purpose. Both campaigns are running programs in the hundreds of millions of dollars with thousands of workers. They knew the deadline was coming up. They wanted to show that they could. And they did. Hoo-fuckin-ray! The reign of the fascist dictatorship has begun.

It’s Really Not The Republicans Fault

At least on the current finacial crises right now. Even before I started writing this post, I had planned on it for a couple of days, and was doing some research. Thanks to Glenn Beck though, and a few other sources, they have made this blog easier!

Even though I myself do not support John McCain, nor Barack Obama in that case, I still feel the need to sometimes argue for one or the other (usually McCain though I may add), and this is another case of that situation. In the past couple of days, the liberals and Democrats have been blaming President Bush and he fellow Republicans for the finacial fall out we are currently in. Well, I say this: This did not just come out of thin air, and it is hardly the Republicans part, and matter of fact most of the problems can be linked back to the Democrats!

For example: The former Fannie Mae Chairman and CEO Franklin Raines was the economic advisor for former President Clinton. It is also said that Mr. Raines is a finacial advisor to Democratic candidate Barack Obama. Not only that, even though Obama has only been in the Senate for a few years, he has surpasses almost everyone for campaign commisions that Fannie Mae gives out. Not only was Fannie Mae is financial turmoil, but it does seem at least they had enough money to support Obama, and that’s always more important then the money you owe to people.

Not only is there the connection of Franklin Raines, but there is Jamie Gorelick. She was former President Clinton’s Deputy Attorney General, and she was the one who set up the Intellegence “Wall of Seperation” that is seen by many as one of the reasons in which there was a fall shortly after the attacks on September 11th. She also served as Vice Chairman at Fannie Ma, e, and in 2002 she told “BusinessWeek” that Mae was very strong, and was safely managed. For her great leadership, which is what you are seeing today, she was payed a healthy amount of $26,000,000 (that’s right, $26 million) blus bonuses.

And last, but not least - we have the Congressional Black Caucus. The CBC and Fannie Mae work close together, and matter of fact the CBC was one of the big guys that was pushing Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac to give out the loans to Americans who could not afford them. Bad loans equal the reason why we are in such a mess, and the downfall of bout Freddie and Fanny lead to a dominoe effect, which in fact led to the crises for AIG (who held $600 million in both companies).

To back President Bush, and his fellow Republicans: President Bush did call for reformation in Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac 17 times this year! So what happened? Well, seems that the Democrats have their hands in the mess, and have their money in their hands, and they don’t want to lose thier money, and will do everything they can to save it - and that does mean Socialism!

Robin Hood Is Dead

For all of you out there who tend to support the “Robin Hood” idea for taxes and such, well, let us have a little talk. As you, and those who do not support such tactics know, this idea basically describes situations in which the government will tax the rich, and at the same time, having less taxes on the poor. Essentially supporters of this tend to argue that with such actions in place, it would mean more money for those who need it, and balencing it out and making it fair for those who earn more.

I know, it seems a bit confusing, but it is really a simple idea, and on the outside it sounds wonderful. But, one has to bring up the question: Is such actions effective?

In the U.S.A., the answer would be no. To tax the rich more - the rich being business owners, and even businesses - means that the people that have expected to earn so much money will now have less, meaning their company is losing profits. In the economy we live in in this country, this is unacceptible, and such situations leads to the downfall of said company. So, what will the company do to bring it’s profits back up? Well they will raise the prices of their products and services!

Now, these idiots backing such plans will most likely argue back by stating that the price raise wouldn’t be as significant as one would think, plus the consumers would have more money to spend on the higher prices. But, would there be a need to start up such tactics? No.

So it would seem that by saying one would tax the rich more, and the poor less, is just an old political scheme to grab the votes of ignorant citizens who think that such ideas will work. Even though such an idea sounds swell, in the end, it will basically do nothing except raise the prices of most goods, and would have the possible effect of raising prices more than they needed to be. So I say to you America, do not listen to the people who tell you this phony tactic, and think about other alternatives such as lower taxes for all, or even the Fair Tax, or the Automatic Transaction Tax - all in which are better than the “Robin Hood” way of taxation.

Hamburger Logic: Change You Can Believe In

This is something I thought of very recently while sitting in my dorm room…

People always wonder how and why people insist upon “wasting” their votes on third party candidates instead on the Democrats and Republicans. Then I thought of this analogy that everyone can understand; I call it Hamburger Logic. Here it is:

So you live in a town called America. You, like everyone else, loves to eat hamburgers. In fact, hamburgers are the only food in your town. There are only two hamburger joints in your city. One is named McBurgerdon and the other Burgercity. You love the burgers from Burgercity, but you don’t really agree with McBurgerdon. Some of your friends like McBurgerdon though. In fact, Burgercity and McBurgerdon each get about half of the cities patronage. But recently, both McBurgerdon and Bugercity have begun to slack off. The quality of the materials for each burger stand has plummeted. The french fries are always burnt, the burgers are pink, and the shakes no longer contain any ice cream. At the same time the prices of each of the products have gone up. It is disparaging. So, what do you do to solve this problem? Well, the solution is clear. You continue to purchase you food from Burgercity while your friends continue to buy from McBugerdon. This is the only logical course of action. There are however those people, loons, that decide to make their own burgers. They use high quality materials, and they customize their burgers exactly to their liking. Those idiots. They’re just wasting their appetites. Everyone knows that the Republicans and Democrats ~~err ~~ I mean ~~ McBurgerdon and Bugercity are the only true burger stands. Making your own hamburgers is not true nutrition, duh!!! I would never make my own burgers, you say. Idiots………

Well that’s it. If you want change then vote for it. Don’t say, I want the Republicans/Democrats to change, but I vote to continue the Repub/Dem. How are they even supposed to know that they aren’t doing it right if no one tells them? You want to send a message, then send it. Just like you would stop buying McBurgendon and Bugercity, stop buying the Republicans and Democrats.

All of this is, of course, assuming you don’t agree with them. Some people actually do agree with the Dems/Repubs. But most people I know(that follow politics) aren’t voting for this they are voting against that. Liberals, saying Bush over and over again is no reason to elect Obama. There are plenty of other people who are not George Bush. I am not George Bush for example. Conservatives, Obama is not a muslim(if he were it wouldn’t matter though); there are plenty of other reasons one could choose to not vote for him. Libertarians, why the hell are you voting for the Republicans and Democrats? Both parties are far from Libertarian. They are socializing the economy and seizing unconstitutional powers like there ain’t no tomorrow. The only difference between the parties is what they socialize and what powers the steal. Greens, *see liberals. Socialists, while I obviously don’t approve of it, I am sure that there is someone out there for you. You don’t need the Democrats(or Republicans). All other groups, sorry that I neglected you. There are just so many different views on all the issues. I truly apologize.
